In June, Fujijtsu began offering its Primequest servers based on Intel's Ianium 2 processor. The server features Fujitsu's proprietary Dual Sync System Architecture that duplicates the hardware configuration and synchronizes it to ensure non-stop operation.
Fujitsu has been promoting its open server approach as a way to migrate applications from mainframes to an open server environment. The company claims it has dozens of orders.
The partnership is expected to reinforce Fujitsu's server business, especially outside Japan.
